Yanga Chief released his new single Manelo off his upcoming Pop Star album but prior to that he celebrated being authentically African and culturally rich as Xhosa royalty through his collaboration with praised South African designer Laduma Ngxokolo of Maxhosa on the masklava piece for the cover of Pop Star.
After announcing the new single Yanga Chief revealed an iconic cover for his eagerly awaited album Known for celebrating his Xhosa royalty, Yanga Chief collaborated with praised South African designer, Laduma Ngxokolo, of MXHOSA on a ‘masklava’ (a combination of a mask and a balaclava) piece for the cover of Pop Star.

Pop Star comes a year after he released his award-winning project BAPS. An album which critics claim to be his greatest work yet.
At the start of the month, the uTatakho rapper had a heartfelt interview with Riky Rick on his podcast, LAB LIVE, that brought both the rappers and fans to tears with the star later tweeting that, the making of this album saved his life.
Yanga Chief finally releases the full album project that he titled Pop Star.
