A 60-year-old man and his daughter have been arrested for allegedly working an eatery, popularly often known as “chop bar” on the pavement of the newly constructed Pokuase Interchange.
They had been arrested after a video of a person pounding fufu, a well-liked native dish of often cassava and plantain served with soup, went viral.

Confirming the arrest, the Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ms Juliana Obeng gave the names of these arrested as Kwame Addo, the operator of the eatery, and Consolation Dartey, 32, his daughter.
DSP Obeng stated preliminary investigations by the police indicated that Addo operates the chop bar solely at night time. The pair have since been cautioned and charged for inflicting nuisance after they had been interrogated by police investigators.
