Queen-Mother Semane Bonolo Molotlegi of the Royal Bafokeng

Her Royal Majesty, Queen-Mother Semane Bonolo Molotlegi of the Royal Bafokeng, has passed away. It is currently unclear what caused the Queen-Mother’s death.

The Queen-Mother had six children. She, unfortunately, lost her eldest two sons and her husband the late Kgosi Edward Patrick Lebone Molotlegi. Her third son, Leruo is presently the King.

The Queen-Mother is also the aunt of Ian Khama, Botswana’s former president. The Queen-Mother was known for the amazing work she did as Queen and Queen-Mother. She was also an inspirational speaker that spoke at many national and international conferences.

According to eNCA, The Bafokeng tribe is regarded as the richest tribe on the continent. While International Women’s Forum South Africa said that the Queen-Mother was a peace-loving person, who was known for settling disputes positively.

Queen-Mother Semane Bonolo Molotlegi is not the first royal to have left us this year, just recently reported on the death of AmaXhosa Queen Mother Nozamile Sigcawu. Family spokesperson, Prince Zolile Burns Ncamashe, said the Queen-Mother was being rushed to Frere Hospital in the Eastern Cape when she died.
