SOUTH AFRICA, DURBAN – Funeral service of the 42-year-old mother and her five children who were attacked and killed with an axe last week will be held tomorrow 6 December 2020 in Dabekweni Locality, in Kwaaimani.
Nomzamo Mhlanti and her children, Zakhiwe, Yibanati, Wineka, Thoko, and Luphumlo Mhlanti aged between 6 months and 10 years old were found dead in their home in Dabekweni, situated between Coffee Bay and Mthatha.
The father, 34-year-old a Zimbabwean national, was in hiding at the time of his arrest and allegedly preparing to flee the country.
At the time of the arrest of the father trying to flee the country, Minister of Police, General Bheki Cele applauded the swift detective work.
Cele will be attending the funeral service which will take place tomorrow 6 December 2020.
The heinous crime has shocked the country, as South Africa marks 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children.
Police Ministry spokesperson Lirandzu Themba described the incident as a bloody start to the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children.
